サルサはカリブ海の島々に端を発し、その移民たちがニューヨークで 花開かせたダンス音楽です。

The roots of salsa came from Caribean islands and it was blushed up to very exciting music and dance in New York, U.S.

サルサとはスペイン語で「ソース」という意味。音楽的にもダンスの面からも様々なルーツの混合から成ることを意味します。

"Salsa" means "Sauce"in Spanish. It means salsa includes so many elements both in musical and dancing viewpoints.

ジーンズでもスーツでもカクテルドレスでも、裸足でもピンヒールでもよいのです。どんなスタイルでもどんな場所でも、男女がペアでこれほど粋に踊ることができるダンスはありません。

You may wear jeans, suits or cocktail dress. Both bearfoot and pin heal match to salsa dance. Anytime, anywhere, you can dance in your own style. That's why salsa is loved so all over the world.

心躍るリズムと出会い、交流の輪が広がり、人生そのものが輝きだす。それがサ ルサです。

Not only dancing to the hot rhythm, but also your friends will be explosively increased and your whole life gets shining.
That's what salsa is.

インストラクターのRIOはキューバのスタイルからサルサを知り、その後プエル トリコ、ロサンゼルス、ニューヨークのサルサに触れて現在のスタイル を固めました。プロ・アマ双方からテクニックとともに「どうやって 心に感じるリズムを表現するか」を教わりました。

Instructor RIO knew Cuban salsa dance style first. After that salsa in Puertorico, Los Angeles and New York made my style. Both professional and amateur salsa lovers gave me plenty of technic and idea how to dance or how to express my heart.

新人さんは「サルサってどうやって踊るんだろう」と思ってやってきます。キャ リアのある方は「どうしたらもっとかっこよく踊れるだろう」と思ってやってき ます。どちらの方にも的確な指示を出すのが私の務めです。新鮮な気持ちで日々生徒さんと向き合い、新たな発見と上達をともに喜ぶのが何より楽しいのです。

Beginners come to lesson thinking"What's salsa?".
Those who have more career would come thinking"How can I dance much cooler?" or "Is my dance right or false?"
I try to give effective advices for both and it's my great pleasure.

またラテンダンス界ではここ数年でバチャータというドミニカ発祥の 甘いラブソングの人気が急激に沸騰し、サルサとならぶダンス音楽と してクラブシーンで愛され大会でもサルサと並ぶ評価を得ています。 当教室ではこのバチャータをサルサと並行してお教えしています。

No doubt Dominican new love song called "Bachata" has got popular position these years as well as salsa in the clubs and congress also. So my class has regular time for Bachata.

こちらに紹介する映像は私がアメリカのノースカロライナ州で開催 されたサルサフェスティバルの開場で撮影したものです。
「サルサマニア」とも呼ばれるこのような熱狂的なファンは、イベント やフェスを追いかけて全米・ときに全世界をまたにかけて飛び回ります。 ただただ、サルサ音楽の持つ魅力のとりこになってキャラバンをするのです。
そして旅先で友人を作りさかんに情報交換をします。サルサが生きることそのものになっているのです。



Here I introduce a movie which was taken at North Carolina Salsa Festival in 2010. Look! They really are typical "Salsa mania"!!
They drive or fly all over the world chasing salsa festival and congress. The reason is very simple. "Just for fun"!! And they exchange their facebook information and make friends from place to place.
Salsa for fun, salsa for life.

この教室ではサルサのテクニカルな面をお教えすると同時に 生徒さんにとって家庭と仕事につぐ第三の場をご提供することを長年に渡って実施してきました。 友人のつながりはもちろん結婚の夢をかなえたカップルも多数生まれました。

Here "RIO presents SALSA FRESCA" has given "third place" for the students as well as salsa technic for a long time.
Students communicate at lesson, party and beach in summer season.
Many couples and families were born from here and now I have several " grandchildren".

私自身も２０１１年に生徒さんの一人と新しい家庭を築きました。
帰宅してぎゅっとハグして互いの一日をねぎらいます。
幸福は手にしたと思ってもするりと逃げ出すもの。
だから今このときに感謝して生きようと思います。

Me, myself has got my own family in 2011 with one of my students.
What a happiness hugging my hasband after a long day's work!
Now we know happiness might run away very easily from our hand.
Love right now, live right now.

ここにご紹介するのは２０１０年ニューヨークのエル・バリオ（El Barrio=The Place）ことイースト・ハーレムで撮影した、地元民の地元民による 地元民のためのフェスティバルの模様です。すでに亡くなった偉大なサルサ歌手 エクトル・ラボーの曲を無我夢中に歌い踊り演奏する人々の姿。アメリカ合衆国には中南米各地から移民が移り住みましたが、中でもニューヨーク在住のプエリトリコ系の人々がサルサに与えた影響は絶大です。



I took a movie in 2010 summer by chance at "El Barrio", which means　"The Place" in East Harlem, New York city. The festival looked like "of the latino, for the latino, by the latino" living in East Harlem. Music of late great singer Hector Lavoe is sang, danced and played by overflowing people. Many people's moved to the U.S. from middle and South America. Especially Puertorican power in New York had big influence in salsa history .

当教室では通常レッスン（サルサおよびバチャータ）、年に数回の 「はじめてのサルサ」、イベントへの出張、パフォーマンスの発表、 イベントの主催などを行っています。まずは「はじめてのサルサ」で サルサの基礎や原理原則を知っていただき、通常レッスンでより しっかりしたテクニックを身につけていただきます。サルサはほかの どのダンスと比較しても「もともとダンス経験がない」ことがハンデに なりにくいダンスです。これまでダンスはおろかスポーツの経験も ほとんどない、という方でも踊ることができます。ぜひチャレンジして みてください！

RIO presents SALSA FRESCA holds regular salsa&bachata lessons, irregular "Salsa for quite beginner", lesson as a guest instructor, and have performance with my students or my dance partner Kz. Sometimes we hold a salsa party by ourselves.
If you are going to challenge to salsa dance for the first time, take " Salsa for quite beginner" first and do continue practicing at regular lesson. Don't worry if you have no experience of dance nor any sport. Many instructors say "dance as you walk".

サルサを始めるうえで課題になるのは仕事・家庭との両立です。仕事はめりはり つけてストレスをためこまない、家庭内コミュニケーションを欠かさない。こう いった細やかなベースのうえに快適なサルサライフが実現します。忙しい現代、 バランスを大切に！



When you starts salsa dancing, take care to keep your time and energy well balanced. Never accumulate stress. Communicate frequently with your hus/wife and kids. These basement will help your comfortable salsa life.
Balance, will be the key.
